How to travel with a dog

Traveling with a dog can be a joyful and memorable adventure. A properly planned trip, in accordance with all the rules, prepared documents and correctly collected dog luggage will make this event comfortable for you and your pet.
First, let’s figure out which documents come in handy.
If you are traveling with a dog in Ukraine and the CIS countries, then you need to have:
1. Veterinary passport
• Name and address of the dog owner
• Name of the dog, breed, color, gender
• A sticker with a dog chip number is pasted
• Mark on rabies vaccination. Vaccination of the dog should be timely, the last vaccination should be carried out no earlier than 30 days before the date of departure and no later than 11 months and 1 day
• General virus vaccination (under the same conditions as rabies)
• Marks on the run of worms (preferably not more than 3 days) and marks on the treatment of dogs from exoparasites (preferably not more than 10 days)
• Mark on the clinical examination of the animal
2. Veterinary certificate of form No. 1, taken at the state veterinary clinic on the basis of a passport and after examining the animal.

If you plan to go with a dog to the countries of the European Union or other countries of the world (except for the CIS countries), then several additional documents are required:
1. Veterinary passport of international standard
• Name and address of the owner of the dog (filled in English)
• Dog name, breed, color, gender (filled in English)
• A sticker with a dog chip number is pasted
• Pasted a photo of a dog
• Mark on rabies vaccination. Vaccination of the dog should be timely, the last vaccination should be carried out no earlier than 30 days before the date of departure and no later than 11 months and 1 day
• General virus vaccination (under the same conditions as rabies)

2. Analysis of titers of antibodies to rabies virus.

3. Three days before departure, on the basis of a veterinary passport, the owner of the animal must receive a veterinary certificate No. 1 from the State Veterinary Clinic. A certificate is issued for the number of days for which you have a trip planned, and after returning it should be stored for another month;
4. When traveling by car, you must select a border crossing point with an organized veterinary control point. It is important! The veterinarian is on the Ukrainian side, takes the form No. 1 (valid for 5 days), issued in Ukrainian, and issues a Euro-certificate in a foreign language, approved by EU regulation 576/2013 (this is a document for the countries of the European Union).

Attention! When going on a trip with a dog to another country, you need to carefully study the rules of the country you plan to visit.
